Things that are awesome

Getting my new bike
Due to a fail in the headset of my beloved Giant road bike, a new frame was in order thanks to the warranty deal on Giant bikes.  After a whole lot of waiting and patience testing, the new frame arrived and the guys at OnyaBike in Belconnen did a stellar job getting it built!  It is different to the old in one in more than just colour.  But I will save that for a different post.

Having awesome mates
As a result of the above I needed to something to train on.  Enter World Champ and all-round awesome chic, Sue Powell.  Thanks to the loan of Sue's "spare" bike I was saved from doing all my training on the ergo!  Thank Sue!

Fantastic support from the guys at OnyaBike in Belco
I can't thank these guys enough for their awesome support over the years.  Their patience and perserverance in getting my new bike sorted and the new kit that was waiting with it when I picked it up was awesone.

Helping my mates do well
NSW Scratch Race Podium.  Well done Sorelle & Rebecca Stevenson.

Or trying to!  I forgot about the non-sprinter-ness of my crit team mates when I was attempting to lead them out.  But, it was good fun trying!  The result in the NSW Scratch race is also a reflection of this.  In the last 5 laps of the 40km race I put my head down to try and get away from the bunch and attempted to stay away until the finish.  At 1.5 laps to go, training partner Sorelle had bridged across and it was her turn to take the lead.  I was rolled just before the line but Sorelle got the win by about 30m.  It as a fitting finish and great to have us both on the podium.

The other highlight of the night was arriving at Dunc Grey Velodrome and the junior athlete I help look after told me he had won the U15 Sydney Cup on Wheels.  The boy has been on the bike for less than 6 months!

U15 Sydney Cup on Wheels Podium- Congratulations Jordan!

Start of track season
Track is my favourite form of racing and I am so excited to be racing again.  The season has started well, with a gold in the NSW points race, bronze in the NSW Scratch Race and some good placings in the Sydney Cup on Wheels Carnival.  But even better is I can see the areas that need some work and am looking forward to the challenge and the improvements that will come.
